Medal Awards
Top performers in the IUPO receive medal designations based on their combined General Round and Finals score.
Gold Medal
Awarded to the top scorers who demonstrate exceptional mastery across all competition categories.
Silver Medal
Awarded to high-performing competitors who show strong knowledge and analytical ability.
Bronze Medal
Awarded to competitors who demonstrate solid competency in urban planning fundamentals.
Certificates
All participants who complete the General Round receive a certificate of participation. Strong General Round performers who don't advance to or medal in Finals can still earn a Certificate of Distinction. Medal recipients receive distinguished certificates reflecting their achievement level.
Special Recognition
Best Design & Rationale Response
Awarded to the competitor whose Design & Rationale submission in the General Round demonstrates the most creative and technically sound planning proposal.
Category Excellence
Awarded to top scorers in each of the five competition categories: Transportation, Zoning & Land Use, Housing & Community Development, Urban Policy, and Sustainable Cities.
Results Timeline
Results are typically released within 4-6 weeks of the competition date. All participants will be notified via email when results are available.
